Skunks, I have the above laptop having these specs:- Processor Duo core 2.13Ghz(AMD),Memory 4096MB, Hard Disk 320GB, Bios Phoenix Version 1.70, EC Version 1.3 It was exceptionally slow , I uninstalled most of the software's, stopped all the unnecessary start up programs yet it was slow.I have installed a new Windows 7 OS only. Hmmm, a computer with such a memory size shud be faster than a horse.. There cud be something wrong in the memory handling/access btwn the OS and the memory.. Did you google on this laptop and how to fix it? Eg L2 cache,, clocking or over clocking,, 32 vs 64 bit OS.. If over clocking does not work for you, Here is a disappointing answer from some forum about these laptops: ..... Unfortunately, the C650 line had multiple different processor options. Some shipped with Intel processors, some shipped with AMD processors. Some shipped with newer Intel Core i3 processors, some with older Pentium Dual Core. Those that shipped with the AMD processors were shipped with the C and E family... which were budget class low speed processors. The fact is, you purchased an inexpensive laptop. That means it was made to be relatively slow, and used for web surfing and light office usage. So, even if you could swap out the processor, the speed increase would only be slight, and pretty much negligible. If you want a significantly faster laptop, you are going to have to purchase a new, better, and more expensive laptop.
