I also thought so. Its very uncouth for KTN to do such a thing out of their interest in Car Track as a competitor in the Industry. It is clear malice. Even if there are facts to support their story, what do we know Car Track is doing or not doing? ...... "Charles Okumu, a media lecturer at The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), said: " Whereas there is nothing like complete objectivity, when a media house owns a competing company to one they want to expose it would be fair to subject all companies to the same standards of investigation, but in this case a story abour Car Tracking companies was reduced to only one focus and the camera was not allowed to zoom. It is a sacrifice of journalism ethics." But, Juma Ayansi, a media scholar, differed arguing that " as long as facts are kept, then the duty of journalism has been served, facts are sacred and opinion is free." But both agreed that KTN should have declared their interest while running the story." ...... On Fri, Apr 17, 2009 at 9:35 PM, Gichingiri Kuria <gmail@gichingiri.com>wrote:

It doesn't. TrackIT is guilty of fraud. Period. First things first, that's wrong. There are several other players in that market. Rumour has it over 40 - I can't verify this but other players there are, for sure. In my previous life I worked for a company affiliated with the group as well, and it's true Car Track is a part of the group. However, I'll vouch for Car Track, having personally used their services - a few times I called them, identified myself, asked for a test and they'd oblige without hesitation. I'll not comment about Track It, since I don't want to be enjoined in the lawsuit ..... :) BR, S
