Styling of content is handled differently and independently for each output format. Sadly HTML styling is not given enough emphasis in c/c++ pdf libs. I thought so, because i also had the same kind of problem except it was in ASP.NET C#, I decided to implement the PDF design separately as a template and then paste whatever content that was needed in the report on the template before merging it and downloading it to the user.
