I've personally been to the ones at Universal Studios, Disney World, Busch Gardens, Wonderworks and I think the most realistic one is the one at NASA Kennedy Space Center which the enter theatre is kinda a Space shuttle simulator. Had a five minutes 4D experience on a National Geographic movie. Very enjoyable, but I'm sure kids will cry to death, especially when the rats move past your legs and the special effects make you actually feel the rats. I have to admit I had to lift my feet up. Sorry I had to revive this old thread. Apparently there is a 4D/5D theater in Kenya. I saw it over the weekend as I was exiting The Junction mall. I have no idea on pricing of tickets. The Chinese are also selling these units at around $12k But keeping in line with the original thread, is IMAX doing well or is it suffering to the 50bob movies? So I believe those are the effects to be felt within the theater.
If you happen to go The Junction, the theater is at the parking. I think it is a 12 seat theater, judging from the size from outside.

@ Brian I do not think the 4D theater at Junction will kill iMax. Note that iMax can only show a maximum number of around 26 movies per year which usually means the years top blockbusters - which suggests the theater will almost always have clients on opening shows. Second, the 4D theater shows are 5min each at 500/- - a good short thrill for curious shoppers - not a whole movie experience. BR/
