The Apple fandom is because of ease of usability more than engineering and functionality, which are pretty good too. so while the HP i7 may have more features, the Apple hardware is easier and pleasing to use. Note I have never owned any of iStuff, am techy enough for *nix. Maybe will consider when the *nix excitement dies down in me
