The number of physical interfaces may be the issue, and the box may be cheaper then getting a 2nd hand PC and adding interfaces - but: Consider installing pfSense on a virtual server - eg. vmware. You can then get as many interfaces as you like - and trunk to the server on one (or more) physical interfaces.
