Is Microsoft High on something?

I have been testing Windows 8 since Developer Preview, Consumer Preview and now Release Preview. What beats me is that even between Consumer Preview and now Release Preview, M$ doesn't seem to give an update option. On two machines I have been running CP on, I am forced to do a complete reinstallation of everything! And now, the RP has taken away the option where you rightclicked on the bottom left hand corner to get a context menu! -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.

Holy smokes. that is M$ for you. Their coders sometimes are on Shisha and strong tea i guess. Olie On Thu, Jun 7, 2012 at 12:53 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:

How about you try this???? http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/a/windows-update-settings-windows-8....

@Stephen, You did not understand my rant at all:-) DP = Developer Preview CP = Consumer Preview RP = Release Preview Windows 8 is currently on RP. What I meant is, the move from CP to RP should have been an Upgrade, not a Reinstall. I did not tak about Windows Update. The link you sent is by a newbie, I suppose ... changing those settings is not such a long list of click this, that, that else.. It's as simple as three steps: With Computer icon on Desktop, rightclick it, choose properties, click Windows Update, click Change Settings and voila! Their FAQs: <http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/faq> (under "Upgrading"), and this blog post: <http://blogs.msdn.com/b/zxue/archive/2012/06/01/installing-windows-8-release-preview-with-upgrade-assistant.aspx> confirm this to be the case. Maybe these "previews" aren't meant for doing "real" work :) Joseph.

huh? being high on substance doesn't necessarily make you dump. an idiot is an idiot high or not, infact it worsens the idiotismness. for the creative minds, try thinking on a technical problem when you are high on weed or LSD or alcohol. you are likely to get the missing link or an entirely different perspective. the mind gets to a free state somehow and this is a known medical fact. its also known that you are most creative when getting out of a deep depression .... sad now? I think they are pre-empting you trying to use one of this versions as a day to day work machines , seeing that they are "free".

Pole Washi, I do not even know how windows 8 looks like and so I might not be of great help. I have however said this before, and I have been ridiculed and insulted because of saying it. But I will nevertheless say it again: WINDOWS XP Tell your children and your children children: WINDOWS XP !!!! Timo.

Windows XP in 2012? Someone's been smoking some stuff.
Believe me Windows XP was the best ever; and still is... Especially if you run it on modern machines. We still use it at home - stress free. Now when it comes to corporate owned machines; Vista etc is forced down our throats because of EOL Support.

+10 for XP..!! On Mon, Jun 11, 2012 at 5:27 PM, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com> wrote:
