Hello Skunks, Just curious, I have been trying to do some FTP transfers. My zain connection seems to complete more transfers while my Safcom one barely does any. Why would this be? I'm on Safaricom 3G and Zain Edge... Regards,

its a know fact, the Zain connection is slow but sustains connections for longer and the safcon one is very fast but drops connections every so often. If your ftp client can resume connections, then you won't notice. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Jul 14, 2009 at 10:36 PM, Edward Obiko <edobie@gmail.com> wrote:

HI there, I seriously stopped using the Safcom modem due to the same connection time-outs. Ask a guy who works there and he shall admit the same. I chose Zain as it can go all time I want without disconnecting esp given that I use ssh sessions. In other words i went for the adequate and convinient connection rather than the fast but carzy connection that will drive me nuts, hehe. Have a fab Choice. for a good ftp client which allows resume, filezilla works well.

I'm actually using Filezilla. The problem is that I have to requeue the failed transfers or is there a solution for this? Regards, On 7/15/09, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:

Try setting your filezilla to do multiple retries before giving up.I have set mine to 15 retries, and am on safcom - works fine On Wed, Jul 15, 2009 at 11:31 PM, Edward Obiko <edobie@gmail.com> wrote:
