hard drive data recovery

Hi fellow skunkers, i have a query,if you format a HDD and then remove the logical partitions created there, is it possible to do data recovery? -- I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. -- Fred Allen

David, sorry to hijack this post, but I have a 1TB drive which doesn't get recognized by the comp. I have tried everything and have failed to get any comp to recognize it - makes a ticking noise when connected as a secondary drive and comp stays on BIOS like forever before booting without recognizing it - any help will be appreciated. ./Ok3ch On Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 4:04 PM, Dave Kirirah <dave.kirirah@gmail.com> wrote:

@Okechukwu.. Thats alright.. What i'd say is that i refer the "ticking sound to as " the click of death... Nomarly caused when the heads fail to find the intial section of the drives platters hence the clicking as it tries over and over again. So trouble shouting would require to change parts with a known gud similar drive. Old method of freezing and attempting a recovery doesnt work on SATA. Anywy if its data recovery want to try..i can give it a shot bt for this kind of physical damage chances are slim. Mostly had drives with clicks i recommend you just kiss and part ways unless data is super worth recovering. Anywy let me know how you can get me the drive if you want me to attempt a recovery. Thanks dude, will holla. Actually tried freeing for 24 hours and nada. Although its mostly backups of media files which cover close the the TB, there are packets of very important data, probably less than 10G, but still wouldn't mind recovering my well labeled and organized movies too. ./Ok3ch On Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 4:42 PM, Dave Kirirah <dave.kirirah@gmail.com> wrote:
