Apple Wins Injunction Banning Samsung Selling Galaxy Tablet in Europe

The Apple vs. Samsung war is getting murkier by the day - http://www.cellular-news.com/story/50387.php?s=h ./Ok3ch

Samsung's response: http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-officially-responds-to-apples-euro-galaxy-t... “Samsung is disappointed with the court’s decision and we intend to act
immediately to defend our intellectual property rights through the ongoing legal proceedings in Germany and will continue to actively defend these rights throughout the world.
The request for injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung.
We will take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung’s innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world.
This decision by the court in Germany in no way influences other legal proceedings filed with the courts in Europe and elsewhere.”

I pity Samsung. Some of these legal proceedings take weeks if not months to conclude. Meanwhile the injunction in EU remains in place. By the time it is all over and a decision reached, irreparable damage would have been done to Samsung. But they are a large company, I think they will ride the loses. There is also the ongoing battle between Google and Oracle regarding the use of Java in Android. No one knows at this point how all this will turn out and the effect it will have on Android handset manufactures, the largest being Samsung. And then the Nortel patents that Apple and it's consortium purchase will somehow hurt other manufacturers in the end. And just yesterday, Apple (APPL) briefly overtook ExxonMobil (XOM) to be the largest publicly traded company in the world. While XOM has regained their top position, analysts expect APPL to be on the to before this year is over. It is not good not to be Apple.

Also previous patent wars have gone Apple way to the extend that Samsung have to show Apple any new phone or tablets they plan to release six months before release date - which to me was really cruel. ./Ok3ch On Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 10:52 AM, Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:

Samsung problem is lack of a design team, or one that gets overriden, We all agree that the Galaxy looked like the iPhone, which incidentally was manufactured by Samsung. Then there is this Samsung touch phone that had 8, or is it 9 phycial buttons with no backlight - this is what they end up with when not copying Apple. anyway, they are #2 in the world, but watch for the rising and more original HTC. Hope Samsung wont start copying their designs

I have a Galaxy 10" Tab on loan...and Apple may be onto something as far as it's physical appearance is quite similar to the Ipad2. On Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 12:35 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
