I thought OTC is the area around Jack and Jill, only news of one grenade. I seriously doubt whether Al shabaab are involved. There are several such attacks that have happened around Nairobi , carried out with the same Grenades. Problem though is that our police force is well suited for beating up old women during riots, and have never closed any of the investigations - Dec 2010((unconfirmed date) Grenade goes off in a bus - three grenades in Uhuru Park "no " rally http://www.nation.co.ke/News/Park%20attack%20probe%20fails%20to%20yield%20ne... - Grenade attack on Policemen including one in Eastleigh http://www.nugget.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2875856&archive=true The police are yet to close investigations, especially on the Uhuru Park attacks which bear closest semblance to what we have today. Our police force is a big let down to the country. Reforms cant go through as the same police will halt pro reform campaigns and be at the beck and call of anti-reform politicians. Back to the grenade attacks, looks like some guys with a sinister motive and a grenade stock pile are on a mission. The attack on Al shabaab is just a motive in whatever they are up to. The "no" rally was another one.

You know you are right. These attacks stink of the same tactics and weapons used at the uhuru park NO rally and the ambassador bus terminus which happened way before we went to war with Shishkabab. We are yet to hear the militia "proudly" claiming the attacks as their own. All current evidence points to local radical muslims with access to a healthy stockpile/supply of grenades. _______________________________________________ *Good judgement comes from Experience.* *Most of that comes from Bad Judgement.* _______________________________________________ * * 2011/10/24 Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com>

Well -- from a conspiracy point of view --- what if its the CIAs/MI-whatever way of pushing Kenya to finally allow a launch a NATO based military base to serve the paranoia spread by these attacks hiding under the shadow of Al-Kebab ? ====== *SECURITY UPDATE* * * A second grenade attack has occurred in downtown Nairobi at about 8pm last night. One person is reported dead and several injured. This incident, extensively covered by most of the local TV stations, occurred in a busy bus terminal in Nairobi’s River Road, during the busy evening rush hour. Although details are still scanty, this second incident is bound to cause fear and panic and indeed raise a lot of security concerns. Meanwhile, police have issued a general security alert, cancelled all Dewali fireworks and advised all people to remain vigilant and avoid the following areas: - Corner House - Burger Dome - Ambassador Hotel - Marble Ark Hotel - Akamba bus terminal - Railway bus stop - Bettyz Night Club - River Road Most of these areas, located in downtown Nairobi are now classified as “soft targets”. Details to follow. All staff are reminded to be vigilant, report any incident and take all reasonable precautions. Our earlier mail yesterday refers. Regards,

I also believe this is manipulation from someone else to make the situation seem more dire than it is. hahahaha what are Al shabaabs?isnt it Al Shabaab militia in plural

Am currently not in .ke ---- But I understand that they caught up with some guy in the Eastside with about 15 grenades , complete with some arabic writings on his wall ... true or false ? Could this be the guys ? Are these attacks finally over ? (At least for now ?)

The attacks may never be over. These guys do not operate alone and they don't expose their fellow islamists easily when interrogated. Ask your guys back here to maintain the same amount of vigilance _______________________________________________ *Good judgement comes from Experience.* *Most of that comes from Bad Judgement.* _______________________________________________ * * 2011/10/26 ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com>

Rumour has it that, while most cops are on the "lookout" for terrorist like elements, the local "terrorists" aka thugs now have a field day car jacking the usual suspects aka city hoppa's. Would be laptop carriers and "mr/mrs money bags" are requested to continue with caution [all pun intended]. if you are on ngong road avoid 4c/w & 111 between 7:30pm & 8:30pm if you can, however, if that is your route home either go home early or stay late, alternatively make your way to railways.

The easiest mode of attack by al shabaab at this point in time will mostly be grenade attacks due to size and weight. suicide bombing and car bombs not at this point may be later. methinks that somalia first to cut off big financial sources this will make the money runners to shift base to nairobi [eastleigh] as its easier for it to get "lost" through corruption n all. when they finally return they will concentrate on eastleigh and you can be sure that time will be the worse than it is now. What happens between now and then, we cannot be sure, however, avoid crowded places as much as you can.
