The blacklist seems to just work based on numbers (from contact list or input directly). That's how I've used it (am using it). Basically, any message that is received from a blacklisted number is "swallowed" by the app. You don't get a received sms notification. You also have the option to still show the blacklisted messages in your message inbox or not show them (the app will hide these messages). I've had a quick look and it does not support keyword blacklisting. I think that might be a bit difficult. An innocent sms from a friend could potentially be blacklisted if it contains that keyword.
