Re: [Skunkworks] M-PESA Statements on Email

They definitely should add some form of password protection to prevent abuse. -- keybase.io/kipyegonmark On 2 Mar 2016, at 12:05, skunkworks-request@lists.my.co.ke wrote:
I do though have a concern. The only security feature that is provided to protect my statement is my identification document number such as National ID, Passport etc.
Now let us be honest, most of us, our identification details are known by so many people hence such persons can easily access my personal statement on the go.
If we have a Safaricom person among us.I suggest, in an effort to enhance on the statement access security feature you add over and above the identification document details E.g. my Mpesa Pin which is mostly known to me.

When you register to receive the statement, you are prompted for an identification number (like ID). When you receive the statement via e-mail, this identification number you provided is used as the password to open the PDF. That becomes a moot point if someone knows your ID number, doesn't it? Especially considering how often we have to give out that ID number. On 2 Mar 2016, at 13:27, "Odhiambo Washington" <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:

True. That person also needs to have access to your e-mail account to access the statement! So what's the big deal actually? On 2 March 2016 at 13:41, Mark Kipyegon <mkipyegon@outlook.com> wrote:
