Question for the Ubuntu geeks
Hello there, I Recently upgraded by box from Natty Narwhal to Oneiric Ocelot. Now my sound card drivers seem to not have installed successfully or something of that sort. When I play an mp3 file using the aplay command, it plays. When I play a video in totem, it plays and has sound, but very low. The sound icon/applet (besides the clock) shows that my PC is muted. I cannot drag the slider to increase the sound volume. Clicking on the hardware tab under "Sound settings..." displays no hardware detected. I have tried installing and reinstalling alsa drivers but the problem still remains. Help a skunk in need tafadhali. Thanks in advance. Me.

As suspected, it is a config problem usually associated with upgrading. I may need physical access as resolving this over mail will be difficult!
