Has anyone boarded the new smart buses yet.. i bordeded thm once and i think the concept is good, the fares are reasonalble the software is great but the hardware is letting them down..i thinnk their card readers should be improved..they take forever to scan so the conductor has to really struggle and i mean physically force the card into the reader.....what do you guys think

Am curious-how does it work? Am yet to board one. For instance, if the balance in my card is 30bob, and i cover a journey worth 50, can I pay the 20bob difference in cash? On 10/8/09, saich <saiched@gmail.com> wrote:

They could also consider working with their fleet management solution providers and put up boards at stages that let travellers know how far out the next bus is, allow travellers to subscribe to SMS notifications, real time route info via their website, mobile application. The smartcard is cool it its just the size of an ATM...they should also expand where one can top up their cards instead of doing it in the bus.... The smart bus is an idea whose time has come lakini siasa ya Kenya i dont think they will go far...coz even now they are not allowed to operate in Town Kencom and Ambassador..but the services currently running are on a trial basis let us wait for a full rollout we see....by the way looking at their website they are the same guys who own budget kenya On Thu, Oct 8, 2009 at 12:31 PM, Josiah Mugambi <jmugambi@gmail.com> wrote:
