Maximum length of a USB 2.0 cable is 5m. It can be extended up to 30m by using 5 USB hubs (what a mess) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus#Maximum_useful_distance There is also the possibility to use USB over ethernet extension (100m) http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/USB_distance_extension/ But why? Much easier to get a USB printer enabled router in this case.
