It seems there is no stopping these guys. They want to buy up any popular app that generates traffic or a community around itself. First Instagram now Whatsapp. Will not be surprised if they jump unto a hardware company now. -- Regards, Mark Mwangi markmwangi.me.ke

The remaining Facebook TO-Do's for 2014: 1. Poach Erich Schmidt from Google. 2. Lipa Bitcoins na Facebook 3. Lainisha maisha na BlackBerry.

And now I will go slow on Whatsapp, remember Facebook policies, "we don't delete your data" might apply. Then one day they will be selling your data to governments and other interested corporates. I suppose Google has bought over 100 startups in the last 2 years. If you can't beat them in what they do best, buy them out. It only makes sense for Facebook to buy WhatsApp, and if I were a Facebook shareholder, I would laud such a move. Regards, On Thu, Feb 20, 2014 at 7:37 AM, Martin Gicheru <martin@techweez.com> wrote:

I tend to think any company in the US is subject to the patriot act so doesnt really matter what the policy says, US govt will have access to our data. The commercialization bit is just a step behind the govt. I say if you want total privacy stay off smart gadgets. On Thu, Feb 20, 2014 at 8:30 AM, Ouya Obunga <ouya.bill@gmail.com> wrote:
