Good people, Anyone with an idea why, if you accessing websites hosted on 174.133.106.66, e.g. www.gcs.co.ke (this is just a test website for a class demonstration), from a safaricom modem, you don't get through?

Have you tried a traceroute? Do a traceroute and paste your findings here. regards Frank On Fri, Mar 18, 2011 at 11:46 AM, Peter Karunyu <pkarunyu@gmail.com> wrote:

In such cases, at a minimum, please attach a traceroute. It comes in handy when the guys are troubleshooting. If you run the network where the site is hosted, you can go further and post how the route is advertised, whether an upstream provider aggregates it, if its hosted locally and whether its supposed to be reached via KIXP, if you are a customer backhauled by the ISP you are having an issue with etc etc.... my point is give as much info as possible but at a bare minimum, provide a traceroute.... That time I was too busy pulling out my hair to remember to attach a traceroute. Since everything seems to be ok now, I'm hoping I never get to need to resort to traceroute. Thanks all the same. On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 10:59 AM, John Gitau <jgitau@gmail.com> wrote:

Well the issue that might come up every once in a while is even if someone working for the said network were to 'see' your mail here, they can't start working on the issue if they don't have anything to go by. A traceroute and maybe the assigned IP address is the simplest/fastest thing to paste on a public forum..... either way I guess all is well that ends well.... Hi skunks, I also noticed this 2 days ago when trying to reach a public host from a server hosted on Safaricom's IP cloud. Someone in Safcom data kindly check their routing to 0.0.0.0/0. Something is not quite right. I tested from hosts on other ISPs and confirmed that it is reachable. Regards, Mugo On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 12:18 PM, John Gitau <jgitau@gmail.com> wrote:

So, where are the details John Gitau asked for? Should you not have given those? -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!
