I think it is still too early to tell though the work (1% or so complete) can be said to be progressing in the right direction. Read the article first and make what you may of it. If I were you I would give them a little credit: What they have achieved is not trivial. As far as I can tell, the aim of Science is to understanding the Laws of nature as accurately as is possible.
