Why is the guy in the video scared of the tablet? On Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 4:07 PM, David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd < kianiadee@gmail.com> wrote:

@ Kiania Seriously; I dont know why a tablet ? I have tried to think of reasons to buy one I come up with jack.. With a phone like "iPhone" etc etc; I can do emails; facebook etc - quick things that dont require concentration. If I need to do something long and serious; there is always the laptop and a USB internet card. If I need to read the "books" I get the books (hard copies) ; Or I download free PDFs into the laptop to read at work (bigger screen) == If I need to navigate (GPS); play quick music; attach music to car stereo; I have the iPhone (and related pocket fit devices) If I need to read gazetti; we have the hard copies; or websites like "Nation and Standard" == Movies on portable devices ? iPhone screen is good enough (but not on streets of nairobi :) And the laptop if you are stuck in a place like airport terminal etc etc - with a long cable for charging and keep it running. Mabbe I am missing something?

Was thinking the same, until I bought the iPad, now I wonder how people live without it ./Ok3ch On Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 9:17 PM, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com> wrote:

One word peer pressure! It's inversely propotional to age so kedo 120 there's none. Plus I think LG have got it right this time. Oketch, what utility do you find in the tablet that makes it useful to you

Primarily: - Taking notes in a meeting, no longer have to walk in with bulky stuff and looking for a power source everywhere I go. - All my social media works for me better on the iPad - Browsing the internet & watching videos and short clips are exclusive for the iPad - only full episodes make it to my telly and the laptop no longer do this. - I now can read books & pdf's while lying on my bed (very difficult to achieve with a laptop) - Reading news items - the BBC, CNN, ABC & flipboard apps for the iPad just make newsreading a better experience - And last but most important: Angry birds, Need for Speed, Grand theft auto ./Ok3ch On Tue, Feb 15, 2011 at 6:40 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Portability is key here. Turns out that this factor makes it have good usability, in bed, in a lift, on the park. I am interested in knowing how long the battery lasts - another critical factor. 2 or 5 hrs? On Tue, Feb 15, 2011 at 9:26 AM, Josiah Mugambi <jmugambi@gmail.com> wrote:

So the laptop is the main culprit here? It will assume more of a desktop role as the tablets replace it, especially with their 10 hour battery life

10 hr battery life is quite impressive. I would get one immediately, given chance (read resources!!) :-) On Tue, Feb 15, 2011 at 10:03 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

@Gregory - Practical battery life: I charge the iPad once a week when not so heavy usage, and twice a week when I use heavily. Movies are a real hog, but somehow games like Angry birds are very lenient on the battery. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Feb 15, 2011 at 10:03 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Lucky you, Angry Birds is a major culprit of battery drainage on the IDEOS, those birds must really be angry with the IDEOS

@Dennis, true that! I have to hide my phone whenever my kid bro sees me unless I have a charger nearby just because of that game :)

This might be useful to IDEOS users once Safaricom shops restock it http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/accessories/all-accessories/power/char...

That iPad battery life is impressive; Lemme wait for second generation iPads; They might have a voice simcard :-) <i hope> Or some feature Steve Jobs (rtd) might suddenly re-invent !!!!
