Re: [Skunkworks] Samsung TV vs Sony Internet TV ?

I think yours is simply preference.
I checked consumer report sometimes at the end of last year and sumsang led TV were recommended on almost all categories. That could have changed but I doubt it. You have to also consider Sony exited LED manufacturing, so a Sony LED is essentially a Sumsang with a Sony brand William

@Wash,
Sometimes I am biased.
I have used both Sony and Samsung LED TV and in my opinion the Sony had more vivid colors and was a clear winner in picture quality. It is a matter of personal preference.
I also have an older Sony TV bought 5 years ago which does not have the Internet bells and whistles but it works up to this day like a charm. Haven't had any issues with it so for it is also a matter of durability.
But I hear Samsung has some new gems in town, but haven't tried them out.

@William, You may also know that Samsung makes most of the component for the iPad. But that doesn't mean the Samsung Galaxy is better than the iPad. It is not about who makes the best LED TFTs' but the best television. A LED TFT is now a commodity anyone from Samsung, LG and Foxconn can make.

What I would advise is you buy a Samsung Smart Tv, mostly if you are gonna use a Samsung smartphone, the apps, the DLNA and Allshare play are some of the things you will gain off it. Beyond the usual display checks. I wish I had noted all these before I purchased the Sony Bravia tv, now I have a Galaxy S 3 but cannot utilise the full potential at home like gaming on TV using my phone wirelessely. +1 for DLNA/AllShare on Samsung...that thing works wonders on and off a Samsung smartphone. I managed to hook up mine to the LAN and I can play stuff off a free DLNA server on Ubuntu...no need for a WD TV... Feature-wise I'd go for a Samsung LED over Sony any day.
