Hi, There is no data protection Act as we speak( to the best of my knowledge) There are several drafts proposed by different groups and in one meeting, I recall Dr Ndemo, PS saying that there was a draft bill in Cabinet that would be sometime be presented to Parliament, correct me if I'm wrong. I would also be very keen to get hold of this draft. I think there is a lot to be desired when it comes to the issue of collecting data on citizens/customers by government/corporates. End users have almost no rights when it comes to their own data. How many of us for instance have been surprised to be called by sales agents from banks we do not actually bank with offering credit cards/loans/etc? Can we walk into or email our preferred telco and ask what data about us they have collected? If I change ISP provider can I ask that my former ISP purges all my personal information?
