Here is a thought; if the printer has two USB ports, then theoretically, you can connect the two PCs to the single printer. Same applies if the printer has one USB and one serial/parallel port. However, the chances of that setup working are close to zero than they are to one, but try, you never know. Or, you connect the two computers using an crossover cable, serial cable or bluetooth (PAN), then connect the printer to one of them and share it. I have heard of printers which allow one to print via bluetooth, is yours one of them? On Wed, Nov 24, 2010 at 2:38 PM, kris njoroge <krsnjo@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes; Connect printer to one computer;; weka drivers of printer on that one computer. (Set as Printer Server - using "control panel" - right click; choose properties - click "sharing" weka sharing Name) Connect the two comps using cross-over cable; Give them IP addresses. On Comp without computer sema "add printer" "network printer" "weka IP address of the first comp you installed printer" "identify/confirm the printer's name" Accept - and Voila !!!!

i hAZ option! Cut 2 USB cable, paste wires and do the rambo bambo magic spell! it shall work i tell you! or you could: 1. get a USB Hub 2. share your printer via a crossover network as suggested below 3. get a wireless access point ( i still think calling it a wireless router works fine ) which has USB sharing capabilites but that would mean you need to have a wi-fi card on each machine so that you can print wirelessly. A suggestion for that device is the Apple wireless devices. 4. Throw this printer and get a network printer which you can connect to your Switch which would be connected to your server that allows you to share not just the printer but files and could be your gateway and mail server. 5. Close the office, rent out a new office that has already been set up for a network, well wired / wireless and has a printer in place so that you can get printing done as soon as you connect to the network and have nothing to worry about. 6. Open the machine, connect to the internet, email your document for printing to the computer that connects to the printer and print. Or send to a friend who can get it on a USB stick to you so that you may print it. The options are endless!! MUHUHAHAHAHAH!!!! Futuramawatchman. @watchman yes you really get carried away but all the same got the drift, to all the fellas thanks for the input. @ peter it does not support bluetooth. Where can i get the USB switch? -- * If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't. - Emerson M. Pugh *

@Kris. I was honestly mucking around with everything. Though some are actually viable solutions. I haven't seen anyone selling USB Switches locally, maybe there are some ( enlighten if there are please ). You're more likely to come across USB Hubs. BirdWatcher. Kris, A usb switch costs more or less the same as a network switch! Do you need some coffee?:-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

@ Wash but with the advantage that i don't need to actually setup a network, plus there is no print server if i have understood it correctly. The other option is the crossover cable but then the other comp has to be on to print On Wed, Nov 24, 2010 at 7:33 PM, Watchman <skunkingrahim@gmail.com> wrote:
