Thank you Rita for the clarifications, Actually my query was based on the fact that where I live in Embakasi, the Orange signal is very poor especially on the phone, while the Telkom Wireless is slightly better. Another problem I have noted in our area that there no infrastructure for wired infrastructure i.e no Land line unless you can offer BoPL thus getting broadband nyumbani could be a problem. The per minute device also does pay as you go where by you can migrate to Kshs. 7 per MB instead of paying per minute. Call 100 and this will be sorted out. Thank you. @rita, you have me confused here. Orange have what they call internet everywhere, which they sell for up to 1.9 per mb, its on gsm. Then they have the evdo or 3g+ , which from the website is still priced the same, then they have the broadband service with up to 6k per month which you have to buy the live box which uses a land line. Right? If true, its pretty confusing, and so many products make support hectic and in efficient. My suggestion, scrap billing by volume and the fixed line broadband things. - 1X - billing is per MB Kshs. 7 charged by 10KB (CDMA) - Edge/GPRS - bundles and also out of bundle is at Kshs. 7 per MB charged per 10KB (GSM)
*Internet Everywhere 3G+:*
- Similar bundles to the Edge and out of bundle is Kshs. 7 charged per KB
*Broadband Nyumbani - ADSL:*
- 256K - Kshs. 2,999 - 512K - Kshs. 4,999 - 1MB - Kshs. 6,999

I think its EVDO revA with top speed of 3.1 down and 1.8 up . they use the same modem the EC226 evdo modem on their broadband packages but they limit you speeds depending on the package you buy. @Rita. I have an EVDO device a palm treo 700w from verizon wireless and I want to use it on the orange fixed plus network. I know it can be configured to work with the network. So can it be done from your end?
