Posta's new website

Its great to see Government corporation upping there web presence and delighted with the new http://posta.co.ke website. The design beats most government websites. Very responsive and functional too.

Just a bronchure website. Not functional. Crap really. Compare with this Kenya site, where you can have your shipment picked at the comfort of your desk. No calls. http://www.dhl.co.ke/en/express/shipping/pickup.html ______________________ Mwendwa Kivuva, Nairobi, Kenya "There are some men who lift the age they inhabit, till all men walk on higher ground in that lifetime." - Maxwell Anderson On 18 September 2015 at 09:56, Allan Kibet via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

By POSTA standards and compared to a lot of GOK/Parastatal Websites this is good website. Digressing.... Can POSTA come up with a Notification Systems for snail mail. I have a GPO P.O. Box, I check my box maybe once a month and once a week when am expecting some important mail. Most of the time, the box is empty and I feel wasted. Proposal.. 1. Each person loading the box can have some gadget where they key in every box number they load with a mail. Maybe a phone/app 2. All the box numbers collected can be exported to a system which compares and extracts the mobile phone numbers of the corresponding owner. 3. Through some SMS solution they can send bulk sms to all who have subscribed. 4. They can even charge for SMS notification. 5. I can wait for 5 such notifications before i walk all the way to GPO to check my box. Any takers...someone can implement this and sell to them Sincerely, Jared Oyier On 18 September 2015 at 10:25, Mwendwa Kivuva via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I would also also sign up for such a service as described, and for an additional fee. The saved time would be worth it. On Sep 18, 2015 11:00 AM, "Jared Koyier via skunkworks" < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

No should bribe to help an organization generate more revenue!! *crucified :-) .. another solution would be to have ICT Authority's website handle proposals from the general public on how to improve service delivery or generate revenue streams in parastatals. I have tried talking to the management about such a system, but they don't seem interested. It's still a parastatal and changes take ages to trickle down to the decision makers. How can EMS Kenya assist integrate its customers with the local and international online marketplace like the royalmail does? - http://www.royalmail.com/business/segment/marketplace The PCK can remain more relevant if it so wishes, just requires someone to call the shots and flag off key revenue generating initiatives. Job tried, no one was interested, perhaps we need to raise money to bribe management.. we are not aggressive enough!! :-) On Fri, Sep 18, 2015 at 11:14 AM, Job Muriuki via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
I have tried talking to the management about such a system, but they don't seem interested. It's still a parastatal and changes take ages to trickle down to the decision makers.

Any takers...someone can implement this and sell to them
Sincerely, Jared Oyier

Who would you have to influence to setup a robust backend system that links the website to counters, warehouses and the customer? Essential functions required: - Track your Item - Buy and Print Postage - Get a quote/price - Find a postcode/address Benchmark --> http://www.royalmail.com/ - I guess we'll get there someday. :-) On Fri, Sep 18, 2015 at 10:25 AM, Mwendwa Kivuva via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
