Can One Pick a phone Number directly from a wap browser?
Just wondering. Is it possible to pick a devices number (phone) from a browser(wap). A friend said he had clicked on a banner from a site using his phone and voila! an sms was sent to his phone. Well I cant get this :( how possible is it? If the SMS came from a local content provider(CP), then its possible that the operator forwards MSISDN in the WAP header via the some proxy/WAP gateway to the CP. The AT command is feasible if its a modem but you would need some form of terminal for the AT command to run e.g. windows hyperterminal or linux minicom. @ndungu Its not possible to do that unless there was some kind of app on your phone. It's WAP meaning you are merely fetching data from the server you are not executing any code on your phone (unless your phone has been hacked or you downloaded some trojan pretending to be a browser) -Billy
