I actually bought one off Ebay from some guy (or chic cant tell name is rather ambiguous) in the UK. Seller seemed to have favourable reviews and I paid using my Equity card via paypal. Now twiddling my thumbs to see if I have joined the hordes of internet swindled simpletons. I didn't buy a new one seeing as the paper white is pretty much a tablet. Wanted an e-ink display. There are e-inks in town for KSh. 8,500, but the paperwhite requires no backlight, still maintains weeks of battery life compared to a tablet. So Mark, do tell us of the taxes when your device arrives, for comparison. On Wednesday, 11 September 2013, Mark Mwangi wrote:

This is highly useful info. It seems the old horror stories of things getting "lost" at Posta are a thing of the past? More stories like this are bound to push up online trade; and your nearest Posta can regain its title as the de facto mode of delivery, which has been a challenge to most of our online Daily Deals sites, and e-commerce. Perhaps we could start ordering from http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/ :D Regards, Billy On Tue, Oct 8, 2013 at 3:10 PM, Josiah Mugambi <josiah.mugambi@gmail.com>wrote:

6,119 - does this include shipping from the US, I know DHL charge as if they are shipping gold? Goodness, they must be trying to encourage us to manufacture Kindles locally, or something stupid.
Bought a Nexus at $ 249 and taxes in the US are only $20. The Kindle is cheaper, hence taxes should be lower there. Plus is the amount after the recent increase in taxes? R

Best option is 1 amazon can ship here , don't think it will attract duty either, not for a kindle. There will be shipping charges. 2 get someone traveling back buy I line and ship to them, I find this easiest. For small stuff like that it won't be an issue for most people. 3 well travel yourself:-) You can buy this online on Friday and get same day shipping to San Jose? I might be able to assist you.
