[Job Advert] Market research request & potential job opportunities

I hope I'm not breaking the rules on this one (there was a debate on this a while back but I don't know how it ended). Below are details: Hi Wesley, Here's a summary of what Markets Speaking would need to be able to help a potential client of ours in a research project in rural Kenya. Markets Speaking is a new and entrepreneurial market research company focussing on African markets. I'm one of the founders of the company, pls read more about what we do at www.marketsspeaking.com. We would need to employ between 10 and 20 people in a short term project to collect data from 200-300 Kenyan households. The data will pertain to energy consumption on a household level and access to clean water, among other topics. The ideal profile is: - students in any academic field, preferably final year students at universities Nairobi - fresh graduates who have the time to participate part time in the project for approximately 3 weeks - surveying experience is preferable, even from college/university projects - sociable, finding it comfortable interviewing people you don't know - willing and able to travel in rural parts of the country and perhaps stay over 1 or 2 nights We will also need to partner with someone who can act as a local project manager for the duration of project. This person has an academic background and project management/management experience, documented capability to deliver on time, organised and structured, preferably good with basic statistics (from own research experience in academic or business settings). Markets Speaking has a presence in Sweden and Ghana today and we're looking to expand to Kenya. If we get this project, and it is carried out successfully, we would be looking into identifying a start-up team to establish Markets Speaking in Kenya. N.B. that we need to prove that we have access to a potential team in Kenya in order to get this project! Anyone interested in getting involved, pls get in touch during the weekend (with a short list of background/experiences), preferably before Sunday night. I need to submit a first project draft Monday morning. My contact details are +46707794966 (mobile phone, Sweden) and e-mail is geraldine@marketsspeaking.com. Asante sana Geraldine (I'm half Kenyan but my Swahili is terrible since I've lived abroad since I was 3!) Ps. Wesley, can I list you as one of my contacts in Nairobi when I speak to my potential client on Monday? I know you are very very busy but it wouldn't mean you need to do anything at all, just a small formality. Thanks a million for offering to help spread this information. -- Geraldine Joseph +46 70 779 49 66 +233 265 43 78 36 www.marketsspeaking.com
