This I've never been to so its pretty much in the pipeline because from what I've read, its a park definately worth the 350kms (one-way) trip. Anyone been here recently and could share the directions from Meru Town to the Park? Any pointers? Rgds.

These are not dependable in most sitautions but if you don't believe me, try check out the current map for Meru National Park. Its in the middle of nowehere, no roads. :-) On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 11:37 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Allow me to share some thoughts; First off, you will enjoy the ride to there coz most of the road is new. Bad side is that it makes a few wannabe rally drivers speed... I don't know the directions to the park but once you get to meru, you might want to check out meru safari hotel, when I was there, I saw a large KWS poster in the lobby with all the information you might want. The KWS website<http://www.kws.go.ke/parks/parks_reserves/MENP.html>seems to have a bit more information, but sadly no maps. On other matters, make sure your playlist is long enough coz its a looong drive but once you go past chuka, it becomes interesting coz of the winding roads. But hasn't the IT team found a way to add value to KWS? I mean, matched web ads for people searching for tours would be better than what the minsitry of tourism splashes around on CNN

@Peter, @Dennis @Nelson ( Miraa, have not tried it over 20 years...lol! ) . Thanks for the tips. :-) @Imelda, si you let everyone promote local tourism. Its the season to travel and let 2010 become a past... :-) Best Rgds to all.

That KWS IT guys should be doing more to add value to KWS...Hope someone on this list will pass over the very valuable point that you have raised to people whom they may know in KWS. On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 11:19 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
