Hello Skunks, Am working on mbuni which requires a ppp connection to safaricom in order to send an MMS however wvdial just keeps responding with NO CARRIER and my wvdial.conf looks in order as shown below, what could be the problem? [Dialer Defaults] Init1 = ATZ Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 Init3 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","safaricom" Phone = *99# Password = data Stupid mode = yes Baud = 115200 New PPPD = yes Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0 ISDN = 0 Username = saf Carrier check = no Modem Type = Analogue Modem

First make sure u have enuf Data and try removing line number 12 (reading Carrier check = no) _______________________________________________ *#define TRUE FALSE* //Happy debugging suckers! _______________________________________________ * * 2011/8/5 jamo njoroge <patjayke@gmail.com>

Those could mean alot of things! One of the most probable is that your dialing is not in sync with Safcom's It probably has something to do with your wvdial configuration, but i could be wrong So back up your current config ( *sudo mv /etc/wvdial.conf /etc/wvdial.conf.bak.1* ) Makesure your modem is plugged in. If its a phone make sure its in PC connectivity mode not Mass storage mode Generate a new config ( *sudo wvdialcon**f *) Then set your username and password to web * Username = web * * Password = web Now you can sudo wvdial * _______________________________________________ *#define TRUE FALSE* //Happy debugging suckers! _______________________________________________ * * 2011/8/5 jamo njoroge <patjayke@gmail.com>
