PUBLIC NOTICE: CCK extends comments submission deadline

[Daily Nation Ad] EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT KENYA COMMUNICATIONS REGULATIONS, 2009 The Ministry of Information and Communications in consultation with the Communications Commission of Kenya has developed draft regulations pursuant to the Kenya Communications Act, 1998, and the Kenya Communications (Amendment) Act,2009, on the following: (1) Interconnection and provision of fixed links, access and facilities (2) Tariff (3) Fair Competition and Equality of Treatment (4) Compliance monitoring, Inspections and Enforcement (5) Type Approval (6) Postal and Courier Services (7) Universal Access and Service (8) Numbering (9) Consumer Protection (10) Dispute Resolution (11) Radiocommunications and Frequency Spectrum (12) Broadcasting (13) Electronic Transactions (14) Licensing Following requests from a number of stakeholders, the Commission has extended the deadline for submission of comments on the draft regulations from 28th September 2009 to 16th October 2009. This extension is geared towards providing ample time to all interested parties to adequately study the documents before submitting their comments. Please note that the Stakeholders Forum scheduled to take place on 1st and 2nd October 2009 at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies(KSMS) will proceed as earlier planned. Organisations and individuals interested in participating in the Stakeholders Forum are advised to forward their names or those of their representatives to Nancy Shiahale through Tel: 4242284 or via email to Shlahale@cck.go.ke before 30th September 2009.
