Hi all, I virus has hit me vibaya,denied me admin right on my machine: i am not able to install or uninstall..how to i work around this,especiall tracing and the user account file that has been affected. Anyone who has experience the same? regards, Henry

Get UBCD (www.ubcd4win.com) and boot from it. It has utils that are very helpful.

You can simply restore admin rights if you know your way around. Let me help... 1. Click Start > Run... and type regedit to open Registry Editor and delete all policy settings which I suppose are a lot. 2. Click Start > Run... and type secpol.msc to open the Policy Editor and restore admin rights to youself of course the above won't work if the virus is still running so what next. Go to http://sites.google.com/site/jacobayienda/ and download USCAN. Im guesing Task Manager isn't working so theres one in USCAN. Identify the process and terminate it first then go to STARTUP MANAGER and remove the startup entry then click on FIX REGISTRY which will pretty much undo all the things the virus has reset but of course the virus must not be in memory at the time. If this doesn't work then i'd assume the virus has injected itself or altered explorer.exe. Removing that kind of virus is far more complicated. It wud be better to try someody's else advice
