Lack of recovery dvd's creator software on laptops with Win7 Pro?

I'm not sure but I think someone on this listed has posted a thread about having gotten a laptop and was missing the option of creating the recovery dvds. Normally vendors provide this software so that you can image you complete HDD. I discovered is that machines running Win7 Pro do not need the vendor recovery software because Win7 Pro has a built in system image facility that does a full image of the entire HDD. Pls do not confuse this with backup or restore, system image is a full image of your HDD. I had an HP Compaq Laptop 610 query about 2 days ago and someone had the same problem. It makes sense that HP would not ship the recovery manager software because Win7pro already does it for you. Hope this helps. :-) Rgds.

what if one cannot access the recovery console or if the hard disk drive has crashed and you need to replace the drive with a new one. On hps 2530 and 6530, the console does not give you and option for creating recovery discs unlike on older systems. On Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 8:48 AM, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:

@Wallace, am not an authority with HP, but pls list excat the OS on these machines had/have so that I can do some research into this. I've looked at the pre-installed specs for HP 2530 and HP 6530 and HP seems to only provide the recovery manager on vista platform. On machines with recovery manager ( as also with Toshiba ) is provided so that you create the system images when the laptops are newly purchased. One can rebuild incases you mention below. I believe this discussion is an important one and a guide to potential buyers. Rgds. On Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 11:19 AM, wallace ngene <wallacengene@gmail.com> wrote:

Thnks for confirming the preinstalled OS. For future use, pls keep in mind that Win7pro does a whole system image ( it creates 2 DVRW Discs Serial nos and Label ) and its under Maintainence menu. Use DVDRW as it needs to pre-format before starting the system image. HTHs. Rgds. On Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 1:26 PM, wallace ngene <wallacengene@gmail.com> wrote:
