Proving once again that Joomla is the best HANDS DOWN in the aesthetics department. There's no way you could get a Drupal site looking as sexy as that.

Honestly i don't see what you guys are talking about... i would give that site a 30% ... The red is blinding.... The pages don't us no typography... On Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 9:45 AM, Webmaster <webmaster@kenyanlyrics.com>wrote:

I don't get it. Are there any bespoke components or functionality of the website that I am missing? Maybe the developer can enlighten us on this. It looks very standard to me. Quite like all the others that have been slammed time and again on this list. regards

Please don't get me wrong, am not trying to be critical, am just trying to see what I can learn from it. On the home page I see a bit of javascript, some tab effect here and there, nice use of the css, but from a developers perspective am just seeing standard components, second level menus etc. I really don't see what to learn from that one.

Looks a standard Joomla site to me. But the red! Just given me a bad headache. would rate it as follows: 1. Use of joonla - 95% 2. Design - 60% 3. Environment and safety - 0% ________________________________ From: Derrick Wesonga <wesongaderrick@gmail.com> To: Skunkworks Mailing List <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Sent: Fri, July 15, 2011 10:31:07 AM Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Good use of Joomla I don't get it. (95%+60%+0%)/3 = 51.67%, not bad :-) Today I was thinking of possible analogies to explain joomla, the only one I could think of is an AK47; used by thugs, cops, armies, rebels; from the rainforests of congo to the desert mountains of afghanistan, with often opposite results :-) On Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 12:36 PM, Shadrack Mwaniki < shadrack_mwaniki@yahoo.com> wrote:

Well, because of the red colour I cant get time to look at anything that may be appealing about the implementation of Joomla in that site. Generally about the site, though it may be good technically, its missing out on some aspects that are also important in determining whether it will achieve its objectives. I was actually interested to discover what data offers they have but the colour is chasing me away. Regarding whether Joomla or Drupal is better for site building, it all depends on the functionality that one wants, and of course many other things. My thoughts.
