Apparently a password with alphabetical characters is strong as any other with mixed characters, only that one is harder to remember. An attacker brute forcing would use the same character set to crack the two. Those sites that force you to use a non-alphabetic chracter just result in several forgotten password requests. http://xkcd.com/936/ -- with Regards: blog.denniskioko.com <http://www.denniskioko.com/>

True dat ! Also password strengths are not about being able to hack or brute-force them (setting up a hacking program in a pre-OS login GUI or an encrypted hardisk is not possible). Having special/mixed characters is also about preventing non-authorized access by people who can easily guess and login into systems or your social networking sites like in this example<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrot_or_Stick_%28House%29> .
