Guys, Am quite disturbed by NTV's new logo, I mean; they can do a lot better. What are your views? Mambo.
First, NTV is undergoing through too many transformations, then, it just looks like a downward spiral and every time, these things just appear out of the blue. I had been off local TV for a while and i was almost convinced i was watching some of those funny TV stations (UTV, Ch2 or something like that when i saw in the news that it was actually NTV. To be honest, children (well people below the age of 17) and women are the biggest drivers of retail sales. Retailers, both goods and services, are the biggest spenders of advertising. It is therefore instructive that NTV, actually NMG in total has taken upon itself to fully appeal to these 2 groups. If u dont believe me, just pick up a copy of last week's Saturday magazine and compare it to a five year old one... in last week's copy there would only be 1 or 2 pages that are meant for adult men. I think for us to find out whether the new logo is better we should ask a 13 year old! That's the focus. That logo reminds me of the logo KTN had back in the 90's. I wonder who designed that and whether he/she was paid for it. Jesus? What were they thinking? With logos, you go for simplicity. It was reported that the colours caused fits among children. Cant remember the exact link but the dude was paid £400,000 for the job. Interestingly he is the same guy who did the Safaricom logo. @Shiro (yeah blaming twitter :) I was unable to understand how the London logo made it through the eyes of an obviously shocked London 2012 Olympic Committee. And Wolff Olins' site is equally hideous. The only explanation could, perhaps, be that somebody knew somebody who knew somebody .. you know, the Kenyan way, in which case the apple hasnt fallen very far from its colonial master. On NTV's array of colours, well I guess once in a while they had to break away from the usual bland and boring logo theme for a more playful one. Am quite disturbed by NTV's new logo, I mean; they can do a lot better. What are your views?

i like the new look..the typeface is simple and easy to spot amidst all the other stuff that appears on the screen.It does grab attention, which is what a corporate image/brand should do. perhaps they overdid it with the rainbow colored ribbon but , still, it does give it character. Next time they want to make a rebrand of their logos for radio, tv and gazeti, thy should ast for Skunks opinions before going on air. Unless of course, a skunk was commission to give a paid opinion, and thought it wise not to share the kill! Anyways, the logo is too colourful for my eyes! i like the new look..the typeface is simple and easy to spot amidst all
the other stuff that appears on the screen.It does grab attention, which is what a corporate image/brand should do. perhaps they overdid it with the rainbow colored ribbon but , still, it does give it character. I found the old logo to be a mixed up jumble of letters that was not straightforward.

NMG always have this habit of not believing in their product entirely. something is wrongif they cannot change it mara kwa mara for them it is if people are comfortable with it then something is wrong. remember the debacle of the launch of easy fm. chucking out such great programs like the swahili ones on sato and Sunday only to bring them back some years later. Frankly I don't like the logo but there isnt much that can be done we wait for another few years when they re brand again tutazoea tu.........
