Hi fellas quick question for those using internet banking which bank, costs and security do they use etc. Is it linked to credit card how fast is info uploaded etc thanks

A good list can be found here <http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#homework> Alternatively you can email all the banks and ask them to get back to you with a price list and why they think theirs is "secure". If they don't reply then would they be a good candidate for internet banking? ᐧ On 23 December 2014 at 19:18, kris njoroge via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I bank with StanChart. I'm on the 'all in one account' that charges a monthly flat-rate fee. - *Cost :* Internet banking comes at no extra charge; save for standard charges (local transfers are free, international transfers to non-StanChart accounts cost slightly under 2,500 per transaction). - *Security :* Apart from the obvious password protection, they use 2 factor authentication (2FA) whereby all beneficiary accounts have to be added in advance (only once). A code is then sent to your registered phone number via SMS. You then key in this code into the beneficiary addition form for the recipient accounts to be registered onto your profile. All subsequent transfers to these beneficiaries will not be subjected to further authentication, - *Credit Card Linkage :* Yes - It's seamless. Credit card payments, history and balances can be viewed from the internet banking account. - *Speed of Info Upload : *I'm not sure if I full understood your query, but for Santa's sake let me try to give some answer..... You can change most of your registration details almost instantly with 2FA. Some details may require further approvals by the bank where normal reasonable wait times apply. Cash transfers to any StanChart account in the world are instant. Other transfers are normally enforced at around 3pm of any normal working day. My rating. I have no reason to look elsewhere. The facility just works fine for me. *PS :* - NIC Bank has ventured into use of One-Time-Passwords generated from physical tokens/smartphone apps. - CBA seens to have some fan club here ~~~> http://www.wazua.co.ke/forum.aspx?g=posts&m=618634 Tony.

Thanks for the feed back . @Tony what i meant with speed of uploads was if i buy or use the card how fast is the transaction uploaded. According to wazua CBA is really popular and i like the dongle security option.

For StanChart, the Credit Card transactions can be viewed by the next working day; most of them actually reflect within hours. The available credit balance is however updated instantly. Tony.

Stanchart is better. BBK reflects in about one week on the online banking system. Regards, Alex On Wed, Dec 24, 2014 at 11:08 AM, Tony Likhanga via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I use both StanChart & NIC - the Internet banking platforms are perfect for me. NIC's biggest advantage for me to the ability to directly send money to someone on Mpesa, but StanChart has worked for me all those years. ./Ok3ch On Wed, Dec 24, 2014 at 8:36 AM, Alex Ngatia via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Been using the KCB App for about 3 weeks. The Transact section allows you to send to airtime, MPESA, check account balance, MTAANI agent transactions. I especially like the MPESA part, 2-5min response time, very nice. I'm appalled....by my spending habits :-) . You can check this on the History section There's a Maps section to locate ATMs, branches, agents. Don't really use it much, though The news section has a lot of business....little or nothing about KCB. In a way, that's OK. Already trust them enough to run their app, no need to bombard me with news about themselves. The stocks section, very nice. Stocks guys would enjoy this part. Forex section: Just so you know why you should go to Forex bureaus and not banks for that quick transaction...the rates bana....no. There is a property section, very nicely done. My overall experience, pretty good. It's nicely done, I'm not choosy about look and feel, but KCB has a fine product. Card transactions are a bit tricky to use as a measure of efficiency of IB. This is because, usually, cards are managed using an entire different system from the core banking system. The most common card management system in Kenya is Prime from Tsys. Some banks link Prime directly to their CBS while others use recon files at regular intervals. 1 week is a bit of a stretch though. I don't think there is a bank that updates their CBS balances after 1 week. If so, they need to see me :) Interestingly, no one is mentioning Equity yet it is the only bank (as of Oct 2014) that allowed for Card to Card Visa transactions. Even from their ATMs. On Sat, Jan 10, 2015 at 11:45 AM, Collins Areba via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
