The question is sort of a vague question. What OS is your laptop running? Do you want automated recording or would you be waiting for the music to play then you record? On Wed, Apr 18, 2012 at 10:44 AM, matere lusitche <kenyabizideas@gmail.com>wrote:

You could get one of those usb dvb TV decoders and record directly from digital TV. They are quite cheap about 2k. Why not just connect the TV's headphone outlet to the laptop's mic inlet (using one of those dual jack aux cables) and hit record on the whatever sound recording app you have in your laptop? I think windows still comes with the recorder app. -Billy 2012/4/18 <mwangy@gmail.com>

Here's my poor man's bare-bones solution 1. Get a way to capture the output from the Telly and feed that as a Mic input into the Laptop. I'm thinking in the line of suitable audio cables depending on what your telly has for output connectivity. 2. Install Freecoder on your laptop : Available from http://freecorder.com/ 3. Tweak your contraption as necessary. Here's some quick reference for you to get the perspective : http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/review-freecorder-records-any-audio-pla... PS : When Pluto was still a planet, during the Audio Tape (Cassette) <--> Audio CD transition, that's how we used to convert our Musical relics into digital format. Back then, in place of a 3rd Party Software, most of our PC sound-card drivers came with some nifty tools to achieve the same.

Did the same Cassette/LP - CD transition but I used Audacity ! Audacity is free and great ! Try it ! On 18 April 2012 13:09, Tony Likhanga <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:
