Hi Skunks! Care to recommend any bank with great Internet Banking experience? This also includes access to Visa Card etc... -- OO <http://www.omingoobiko.com>

*Standard Chartered Bank* any time! - All your bank accounts are linked to the same Internet banking profile. - Loads of common transactions can be done via Internet Banking. - If you have a Credit Card with them, it's also linked to the same profile, allowing you to instantly settle Credit Card repayments from your accounts. (Barclays bank don't have this functionality... but I digress) - Internet banking is free (unlike at I&M where periodic charges and restrictions on what can be transacted apply) - The interface looks polished and very professional....(KCB need prayers on this). This, somewhat gives you a sense of reassurance [?] - The folks there continually make improvements on their platform. I have witnessed a few suggestions that I made to them get implemented. And oh, they have hung some big banner on their Kenyatta Avenue Branch bragging about some award/recognition they got on their internet banking platform. Excuse my obvious bias, I have been with SCB for quite long. PS : Try also to look for the Internet Banking pages of all the banks of interest... who knows what you'll dig up. Tony.

Someone describe the one for NIC. Am with Barclays and not complaining so far. On Wed, May 22, 2013 at 4:19 PM, Tony Likhanga <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:

What I'm looking for is, 1. Bulk Payment option i.e. one amount distributed to several beneficiaries 2. Electronic Cheque Payments (I'm not sure what this is exactly) - Apparently BBK/Citi have this option which does not cost as much as an EFT/RTGS Have heard some good things about NIC... someone opine? The CBS that NIC uses supports that facility, in fact you (the internet banking user) can even define your own upload file format, account(s) to be debited, account(s) to be credited, etc. It's the facility used by companies to pay staff salaries. If this is implemented in NIC, however, is a different story all together On Wed, May 22, 2013 at 5:22 PM, Omingo Obiko <edobie@gmail.com> wrote:

NIC - online service is highly dependable, monthly fee is 800 which covers transfer of cash to accounts within the bank, sms and email notification of transactions, all standing orders among other services. You can send money within or to different banks via RTGS -500 if not within - via the portal, I have only used RTGS but there are other transfer options you can setup. You can login and setup standing orders, transfers etc..and if you have signed a liability form, you can send instructions from a specific email address and this will be effected. Reliable customer service on email and phone ( KCB cannot spell customer service) Only aspect wanting is support on twitter which is non existent.
Reliable customer service on email and phone ( KCB cannot spell customer service)
Only aspect wanting is support on twitter which is non existent. On May 22, 2013 6:31 PM, "Kennedy Kairu Kariuki" <kkairu@gmail.com> wrote:

I was pleasantly surprised by KCB when I checked them out: https://onlinebanking.kcbbankgroup.com/kcbonline/ And there's a demo to boot! Interesting how things keep changing.

An annual charge of K.Sh. 10,000/= is ludicrous for such a service! (I can get Faiba for that price.) At CFC, you're only charged K.Sh. 800/= a month & that's inclusive of all transactions. On 23 May 2013 11:00, Kennedy Kairu Kariuki <kkairu@gmail.com> wrote:

NIC - online service is highly dependable, monthly fee is 800 which covers transfer of cash to accounts within the bank, sms and email notification of transactions, all standing orders among other services.
You can send money within or to different banks via RTGS -500 if not within - via the portal, I have only used RTGS but there are other transfer options you can setup.
You can login and setup standing orders, transfers etc..and if you have signed a liability form, you can send instructions from a specific email address and this will be effected.
Reliable customer service on email and phone ( KCB cannot spell customer service)
Only aspect wanting is support on twitter which is non existent. On May 22, 2013 6:31 PM, "Kennedy Kairu Kariuki" <kkairu@gmail.com> wrote:

The CBS that NIC uses supports that facility, in fact you (the internet banking user) can even define your own upload file format, account(s) to be debited, account(s) to be credited, etc. It's the facility used by companies to pay staff salaries.
If this is implemented in NIC, however, is a different story all together

KSh. 800 a month is KSh. 9,600 annually, not much difference from Equity, esp if you do less than 5 transactions manually.

CFC and NIC have served me well, NIC is good if you are out of the country ... I can transfer funds, International TT included, while anywhere in the world. I can pay Mpesa transactions as well... On 23 May 2013 13:13, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

As we wait for 1st hand info on NIC... I had a colleague who had Internet Banking with them... two notable differences from SCB were evident. - Latency issues. SCB pages would almost always load fine while NIC pages would more often spoil for a fight (experienced both when accessing the pages locally & from out of Kenya) - To transfer cash to 3rd parties, SCB requires you to create the recepient accounts in advance while NIC allows you to do this on the fly. Think about a one off transaction scenario. PS : Both of these observations were made almost a year ago. Things may have changed.

BBK also forces you to define the payee first. *sucks* On Wed, May 22, 2013 at 4:33 PM, Tony Likhanga <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:
