WHAT IS WRONG WITH DSTV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF at all DSTV anticipated a surge in subscriber numbers in the run up to the world cup, they should have upgraded their systems. DSTV is suddenly behaving badly. They wont upgrade bouquets to premium on time, ATI their systems are down. There have been LONG queues at their Westlands offices with guys complaining about being shortchanged. WTF!!!!!!! :( They've already pocketed the money :( and we need to watch the world cup that's why we paid a hefty $80 when we could have watched the games for free on KBC...... Somebody from DSTV upgrade my account number 42081886 to premium. I have already filled that silly form. its now 72 hours. To add to this discussion 1. Many people waited till the last minute to upgrade for strategic reasons. Mainly that they wanted to pay the higher price for only one month and since the world cup runs from 11 June - 11 July they waited until 11 June to pay. However, I believe (although I hope I am wrong) that this strategy is flawed as DSTV packages are valid for 30 days not 31 days. Friday, 11 June 2010 to Sunday, 11 July 2010 is 31 days from the start date to the end date, end date included. So I anticipate many queues on the 11 July as people discover they have been cut off on the day of the final! Or perhaps people will just watch on KBC or go out to watch the final. 2. DSTV staff do not trust their systems.
