Now that Zain are back in business with a newer sexier modem and new bundles, for those trying to set them up on Linux, you see them as a Cdrom. To load them as a modem automatically, install the package usb-modeswitch. For fedora, yum install usb-modeswitch. It switches the modems from cdrom to usb mode. You also need to disable the SIM pin too, I think.
