Hi, I am looking for some kind of interface/device that supports multiple GSM lines (and supports voice calls not just SMS) such that if I connect it to my machine I can have multiple phone lines to a PBX (asterisk in this case). Am told there might be some PCI-based cards that can do this. Are there any USB types? Anyone with any info (and/or quotes) for both PCI and/or USB types. -Billy

You can use OfficeRoute from www.2n.cz There are some local suppliers. However, these are LAN-based, can do SIP or H323. Not sure if they meet your requirements, but 1. They support multiple GSM lines (upto 4 lines) 2. Supports Voice and SMS (and one port can be 3G enabled if you go for the UMTS version) 3. You can connect them to your machine - via the LAN. 4. They can communicate with Asterisk via LAN (but that is where your requirements get my head whirling!) Whoever told you about them should give you the manufacturer and mode numbers - Sangoma, etc... and you can search the websites first before asking here:) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube

@Wash.. Is this what you mean? Asterisk <--------LAN---------->GSM modem <------->GSM network As in, does the GSM modem register as a SIP client on the Asterisk server, and forward incoming calls to the asterisk server? Say Asterisk passes a call to the modem, it should be able to route the call to the respective GSM network. On 21 September 2010 13:02, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:

I should think so, but I've never used the units with Asterisk or a SIP gateway for that matter. I believe it should. I have one spare unit lying around - kept for contingency. If you run Asterisk (say on a VM) then you are free to come around and play with the unit. I'll give you a workspace to play around. I just cannot let you go with it:-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube
