Have been experiencing slow speeds only to learn that Seacom is down. To quote their twitter updates "We note SEACOM services between Mumbai and Mombasa are down since 9:19 GMT/5th July 10. We are still investigating. More updates to follow." My question is :- - Kwani these guys do not have adequate redundancy where they can route traffic through another link - Whatever happened of TEAMS and EASSY cables that were to be fully operational by July - Is anyone experiencing normal speeds ? @Kevin As far as I know, TEAMS has been live since November last year (not sure, can be corrected). Maybe the providers don't have undersea cable link redundancy. I hear EaSSY should be up in the near future. This event goes to show that providers can collaborate at certain levels, for instance providing each other with redundancy...sort of barter trade.
