[SKUNKWORKS] Small Office Internet connection
I want to switch my internet connection to something more reliable for a small business that is virtually run on the internet. This is for our domains and hosting business. By small office I mean something between 4-7 laptops on and off, but mostly 3 connected on the daily. I am looking for prices between 5-7k a month in costs, location is Moi Avenue, Pioneer house and I want someone I can slaughter when things go wrong. The people who I have talked to offering solutions are salesmen, dont know what they offer and what they can guarantee in terms of uptime and speeds. Why not do a survey of the different service providers in the market & find out which one has the most stable connection in the area, furthermore, since your business depends entirely on access to the Internet, go for the redundancy option. Tusker, what I am currently using is Zuku, they say they dont sell office internet at that price, what they do for that mass market price is home connection. My 2 cents, stay away from WiMAX, have had 2 if these, 1 biz and 1 residential, both are very unreliable and low speeds. Either a fibre or 3G solution. Don't plan on 1 ISP, you will be disappointed if you depend on the net. If there is a problem with a non 3G solution, expect to wait upto 48 hours for fix. In the meantime 3G steps in. I have Zuku and orange, have been for a year now, if orange becomes a problem, then there is safcom. When Zuku goes down. I get orange and safcom.
