Hi Skunks, Anyone know where I can find a decently priced quadcopter in Nai? For my son for recreational purposes. Best, Brian

Hi, Not sure about 'decently priced', but I have seen them at a shop at the entrance of T-Mall. On 16 August 2016 at 16:09, Brian Munyao Longwe via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

What't are the prices like? Also anyone with an idea of the duty if I was to buy one from duty free and come with it? Any restrictions? The last time someone I know brought one in, he had it terrible at the airport - because of the fact that this is a remote controlled craft. He asked the Customs person to keep the remote and let him go with the craft even just to display, but... but....but... and yeah, he did like most Kenyans do and was allowed to go with it. So just know that rules don't allow import f such RC-crafts unless you 'know people' or 'can be Kenyan enough' with Customs :-) On 16 August 2016 at 19:15, Kennedy Kairu Kariuki <kkairu@gmail.com> wrote:

KCAA is working on smoothening the import of such crafts by being the go between with MoD. As of now the regulations remain. On Wed, Aug 17, 2016 at 4:47 PM, Benjamin Muraguri via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I came in with a parrot no problem, guess the guy checking didn't know what it is :) ᐧ

Hi Brian I've been playing with quads for quite a while. While you can get cheap ones from about 3 to 5k, quite some practice because you have to constantly adjust the pitch, roll, rotor speed just to hover and the little ones get frustrated and give up quite fast. I've had to settle on the models with internal gyros and proximity sensors. I recommend forking out around 10k and going for a Parrot Mars Airborne Cargo Minidrone. Works better for kids when you release the controls it automatically hovers (even in slight winds), then you simply tilt the phone to control it. Good for beginners, and you can always put off the main computer for "manual" mode ᐧ On 16 August 2016 at 17:09, Brian Munyao Longwe via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
