One thing I loved about Django is that you could extend functionality by simply using code snippets, there's even a site with a collection of the same. Haven't used Mezannine though have heard good things about it. Challenge is getting Python devs. Learning the same though isn't hard, you can hire guys from college and have them up in a month.
