If it is, can Word and Excel open independently but fails to open when in Outlook? Sometime if it is Adobe and has never been used before, you need to open Adobe outside outlook and read and accept some very long terms. 2. When did it start? Have you always had it or it started today? What did you do before it started? Did you install anything, a service pack perhaps or patches or other software? Try to restart Outlook, if all fails, you can Detect and repair Office? If all still fails, remove Office completely, and re-install again. Added..... I once had similar problem in 2005? This behavior occurs if the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. option is enabled, and the e-mail attachment is determined by Outlook Express to be "unsafe". By default, the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus option is enabled in Outlook Express 6 SP1. When this virus-protection feature is enabled, Outlook Express uses the Internet Explorer unsafe file list and the Confirm open after download setting in Folder Options to determine if a file is safe. Any e-mail attachment with a file type that is reported as "unsafe" is not downloaded, and access to the attachment is removed. Outlook itself doesn't open attachments. It calls the associated applications to do the job.
