Mekatrons Call for Projects

I have just seen some impressive work done by Jessica Colaco for people interested in Mechatronics, revolving around the Raspberry Pi. http://www.ihub.co.ke/blog/2013/06/the-rise-of-the-254makertrons/ Apply if this falls within your in points of interest. I am also working on some projects with the Pi around photography will be sharing that soon. Seems this Pi has all sorts of effects on people who meet it. I started out with Pi+xbmc, but that was too easy, then discovered there's Python in the Pi... Pi + VAG-COM cable + free ssm + RomRaider + a dumb, 7" android tablet = a very interesting project :-) On Mon, Jun 10, 2013 at 3:05 PM, David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd < kianiadee@gmail.com> wrote:

Peter, I also started with XBMC and it's still working at home but now looking into timelapse photography and motorizing the dolly. Incase you are interested there's an MBED roadshow coming up. Check this out and let me know if you'd want to participate. -- Our demonstration platform is actually our car, which is fitted with 3 Raspberry Pi's and an MBED platform. We can offer a talk around the work we have done and share some knowledge on ARM, ARM processors, the business model and industry revolving around ARM. (I worked for ARM for the last 8 years, but now returning home with by brother to start a new ARM based company in South Africa). We are also preparing for a workshop which we currently plan to use in Egypt. The focus of the workshop is Embedded Linux on ARM, and how to create such an environment from scratch (source). We use the Raspberry Pi as platform and give the students a complete design challenge to end up with a complete working embedded system. Promotional video: http://www.raspberrypi.org/**archives/3939<http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/3939> We have direct connections with Raspberry Pi and ARM for some sponsorships, so we would actually be able to contribute hardware if it would help make something happen. (We are also working together with Hardkernel and MBED) We would be very excited to partner up if you are interested. I have attached a low quality version of our flyer - if you can use it we can provide a higher quality version. (There is a high quality version more suitable for printing here: http://trollie.dyndns.org/**flyer-hq-v3.0.pdf<http://trollie.dyndns.org/flyer-hq-v3.0.pdf> ) We are about 4 weeks from departure here in the UK. You guys can track us via GPS: http://livetrack.skytag-gps.**co.uk/locator/index.html?u=**lotter<http://livetrack.skytag-gps.co.uk/locator/index.html?u=lotter> Hope we can meet soon and exchange ideas. I would love to contribute! But I am still a total noobie in this stuff, plus my hardware is yet to arrive from UK, taking a slow ship with ETA being 4 weeks from today, so I might not have anything to show by 4 weeks. All the same, I am still interested On Mon, Jun 10, 2013 at 4:07 PM, David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd < kianiadee@gmail.com> wrote:
