ok, this may sound crazy but i have to ask.. why would anyone develop computerized industrial systems for running a nuclear plant and proceed to hook the systems onto the net? or is that not how the virus got to the plant? if i had my own systems for doing whatever crazy thing i may conjure up, this is how i would set them up. 1. in a very secure basement 2. no internet, just intranet 3. all updates/patches/etc would be downloaded from the net scanned at least thrice, then taken manually to the basement by me :) anyways - someone pls explain to me how govts, banks etc get hit by malicious worms/viruses - worse still how they get hacked via their websites.. (i undertand this is impossible in Kenya - since all bank websites are hosted at hostgator.com :) ) -Alex On Mon, Jan 17, 2011 at 9:21 PM, Collins Areba <castorkenya@gmail.com>wrote:

Looks like you did not already read about the virus well:) IIRC, it was spread via removable media. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

To add to that, removable media will still serve some network functions in a way...INFORMATION EXCHANGE..including viruses. No matter how hard you scan, it is still next to impossible to detect a virus that uses a zero day exploit. One could even be taking control of your device and neither you nor your AV would know it until the software vendors discovers it or the virus programmer announces it. Don't you think the Iranians make use of antivirus apps especially in their EXPENSIVE NUCLEAR PROGRAM's COMPUTERS????

Kenya will not be aiming to become a nuclear power and as such no one (America & Israel) will worry about them. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

We have formidable IT workforce here As far as i know we are in good terms with Israel..no virus for our reactor Speaking of reactors, did you know DRC has one...but in a run down state & no security In fact nuclear material has been stolen there a number of times. Thats the one we should be worrying about
