At least am not alone,2 of my buddies have confirmed it....The 3-6hrs delay on delivering money via Mpesa. For the last 2 weeks,every time i have sent money via Mpesa i am getting a text back informing on the delivery,but the recipient is forced to wait upto even 6 hrs before getting a confirmation...Kwani Mpesa is becoming RTGS? AGAIN! .... tho... i wish yu cash, airtel & orange money would combine into one mobile money platform. over night, they'd take over mpesa. the individual yu/airtel/orange agents would now become agents of this new platform.... safaricom will be forced to play nice and interoperate with them... finally, kenyans would be able to freely port to whichever network had the best price (not necessarily quality)... in fact... as i type this, my other personality is convinced that when this is realized, the cure for aids, famine and the kenyan mp would be discovered as a result! I haven't noticed that yet but someone might make good cash using the by just moving the cash around like some kind of revolving fund. Its long overdue to have all mobile money platforms integrated just like the cheque clearing system or RTGS. As it stands only safcom is gaining others are gross losers. Probably Safaricom does queueing of transaction, and processes them in a linear manner, since demand may peak or drop across the day. So by end of day, all transactions are processed, but not with the immediacy users want.
Its about time Airtel/YU/Orange Money combined Kiosks if they cant spread fast enough. @Lawrence One day there was a delay, then there was a 'no float' situation. Then there was a 'no float' situation again. Then there was a delay.. So I quickly registered with ZAP/Airtel Money and sent money to that Safcom Line (for FREE) Now I have both options incase the over-crowded option doesnt work for me.
Maybe they moved the hosting of the platform to the Safaricom Cloud :-)
